First off, apologies to 'sci.physics' guys, since this thread properly
never should have appeared in that group to start with....I don't know
where B. Harding is posting from, so you can just ignore this if you're
not interested.
If there are 'aliens', maybe they've gotten so entangled in their own
technology that they can't think any more. To illustrate the principle,
consider the direction that C programming has taken....it seems like
every year programming involves less thinking and more shuffling of
mountains of data structures. Also consider that almost every feature
in C++ which is not in C seems to be for the purpose of making it
'easier' to program without having to think as concisely.
So just take that trend, and extrapolate a few decades, and add some
prozac, some MSG, and lead and cadmium in the crop fertilizer (legal and
unregulated since 1976) and we become morons with neat technology which
could no longer even come up with ourselves.
Just an idea....
