I'm working on my PhD now, so some of the jobs I'm looking for in the future
include: research university faculty (if you want to dedicate your life to your
research), teaching university faculty (if you like to teach, maybe do a little
research), pharmaceuticals (where the money is)...Like m-natarajan said, the
PhD will open a lot of doors--I think it would be almost impossible to have
your own lab without a PhD, but you could work under someone else as a
technician or an associate without one. Not going to graduate school would
seriously handicap your chances at getting a "good" job.

And cijadra, most neuroscientists help more people in more ways than you ever
will.
