Hi Mike,
Although I cannot give you any panacea for your child's condition, I
do know that natural proanthocyanadins extracted from grape seed and
grape skin can have a beneficial effect on ADD. I know of one boy who
has ADD, who on starting a regimen of these dietary suppliments,
actually said that he could think more clearly. These extracts are also
linked with positive effects on numerous other biological distresses
since they act as natural antioxidants.
These items are the basic of the French Paradox. The french Paradox
is the fact that the French have one of the worst dietary lifestyles,
yet due to the grape extracts from the Red wine that they drink, (not
the alcohol) have one of the lowest per capita problems with
cardiovascular problems.
I'm not condoning the child drink Red Wine, but the extracts can also
be found in darker grape juices as well as over the counter suppliments.
I realize you were asking for medicational solutions, but I
personally feel that if the relief can come homeopathically rather than
via chemical pharmacology, its worth at least supplimenting the standard
medical options.
