I am an occupational therapist that was interested in this post. I work
with children and come upon many with sensitivity problems in the mouth-
I really don't think gripping anything is going to help you-gagging is a
reflex. My question is if your mouth is overall hypersensitive-do you
have problems eating certain textures of foods; how is brushing your
teeth- what happens if you brush your tongue ( do you gag?). You may
need something as simple as a desensitization program to integrate a
primitve reflex that wasn't fullly integrated as a child.
