Try SYM2081, a kainate agonist. They GYKI compound is good stuff but hard

: This isnt my specialty, but we did go over a paper yesterday entitled
: "Kainate Receptors Mediate a Slow Postsynaptic Current in Hippocampal
: CA3 Neurons" by Castillo, Malenka and Nicoll in v388: Jul 10 1997 of
: Nature. Page numbers clipped off in my copy :-)

: They talk about something called GYKI which blocks AMPA but not
: kainate receptors and CNQX which blocks both AMPA and kainate. There
: is also some discussion about L-CCG1 which blocks mossy fibre synaptic
: transmission.

: Good luck,
