Research Opportunities in Structural Biology
at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center,
New York City:
I. Postdoctoral position for a recent Ph.D. to study by X-ray crystallography:
- structure and regulation of ion channels
or
- molecular mechanisms of axonal guidance
The candidate should have a strong background in protein biochemistry and
molecular biology. Expertise in expression and purification of membrane
proteins would be an advantage. Experience in X-ray crystallography is not
essential; training will be provided where necessary. The laboratory is
equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for X-ray crystallography and
biochemistry.
II. Research Assistant/Senior Research Assistant position
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- cell culture of insect cell lines; generation of recombinant baculovirus
and analysis of protein expression
- basic biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, including restriction
enzyme digests, subcloning DNA fragments, column chromatography.
- organization and purchasing of laboratory supplies
Letters of application, including a C.V. and the names of three references
