Maybe we already do have the ability to remember everything. We could be
exerting considerable energy to the elimination of excess information, or to
the sorting and secondary storage process. Making sense of the environment
uses most energy. We live not in a real world but in a model constructed out
of select details. We select details that make sense and that don't make us
feel too uncomfortable.
