...that's bogus... the visual cortex is at the back of the head so 
because having it there maintains the global allignment (which also 
includes many other exceedingly-powerful, and beautiful, features 
that I've not mentioned in this discussion...

...given the competitiveness of Life, the crossed representation is as 
if =must= be... ipsilateral architecture simply cannot compete... K. P.
