active conduction in cortical dendrites

Last time I read about active conduction in cortical dendrites people
generally agreed that there was some kind of action potential going on,
but it was still unclear whether the recorded regenerative wave flowed
from the spines to the soma, or was generated close to the soma and then
invaded the dendrites.

Can anyone let me know of new developments in this field? Have any
"definitive" experiments been performed in this area, to clarify the
question of centripetal vs. centrifugal condiction?

Do neocortical dendrites differ from hippocampal dendrites in any way?

Do basal dendrites differ from apical dendrites in any way?

Thank you;

Marcello
