I hope someone out there can lend some advice. My mother is a diabetic
and has been diagnosed with diabetic polyneuropathy. She has been
offered a chance to enter a research study program which is testing a
new drug called Zopolrestat. I have several questions.
Does anyone know anything about this drug? From what we understand
several hundred people have already undergone this research and are
currently taking this drug. Has anyone heard anything. Is there
anything she should be concerned with regarding this drug?
What should she been concerned with reagrding research programs. One
major concern is that the FDA is requiring that a sural nerve biopsy be
performed. Does anyone one the consequences of such a procedure? I hope
someone has some info. She is still undecided but has to make her
decision soon.
Thank you so much. Please reply via e-mail....
