It's not exactly a neurosci. quote, but I found a book originally 
published during the alternative health craze of the 20's (maybe the 90's 
are a reflection of the 20's, eh?) by a man who was a professor of 
drawing.  His biological background was a few classes here and there.  He 
created a Jenny Craig type thing called the "Mucusless Diet Healing 
System" which was supposed to cure everything.  How?  Well, he based it
on the quote below, which is his opening line in the book.  And now,
here's Professor (and I use the term loosely) Arnold Ehret...

"The cause of all disease, no matter its symptoms or name given by 
medicine, is CONSTIPATION."

That book is one of the funniest things I've ever read - a great buy for 
50 cents (used book sale).
