I certainly agree with you that in America too often the
availability of drugs are controlled by the American
manufacturers and the politicians who are in their hip pocket. On
the other hand it was the US FDA which blocked the importation of
Thalidomide (European manufactured drug) to the US in the 1960's
sparing thousands of unborn American infants from the devastation
of the limb deformities which affected so many European infants.
If Thalidomide had been created by a US pharmaceutical
manufacturer you can bet that this would not have been the case.
