I examined a 61-year old right handed man who presented with a pure word
deafness associated with unilateral infarctions of the dominent
hemisphere.
He has no sign of aphasia and no sign of auditory deficit for
environmental sound or music.
CT examinations showed that the lesion was located on left
temporoparietal area, but Wernicke's area was preserved.
He has a heart problem-Sick sinus syndrome.
