Acupuncture for Treatment of SCI

I have been seeing an acupuncturist to treat many problems related
to spinal cord injury, including pain, poor circulation, loss of
sensation and movement, and chronic urinary tract infections.
Over a 6-month period (2.5 years post-injury) I have noticed a
10% increase in sensation below the level of my injury (C7) and
marked improvement in muscle movement down to S1. I have
searched the WWW for others using acupuncture to treat SCI
but have not found anything. Has anyone else heard of it or
tried it? If so, what worked? What didn't work?
