We could certainly build into a robot a trip-mechanism that would
monitor the mindgrid for such psychic weather as dreams and other
hallucinations, thus letting the mind be lucidly aware of dreams.

A more intriguing scenario for artificially intelligent organisms
will be the opportunity to enter into shared, mutual dreamstates.

The semantic memory of any mind -- as depicted below -- serves as
the internal theater where dreams are displayed in consciousness.

If two or more minds share sufficient common material in semantic
memory, it must be possible to synchronize their dreams in a kind
of Vulcan mindmeld. A human mind could be the originating source
of a common dream to be experienced by cyborgs locked into trance
but it would be unethical to accomplish the reverse by invasively
forcing a human mind to follow associations imposed by cyborg AI.
