This is my medical dilemma. For the past two years I have
gotten these terrible headaches. They only occur after
alot of physical exhertion, like playing lots of hard
basketball or lifting weights. These are two of the biggest
activities that instigate the headaches, it doesn't
always trigger them off, but does account for over half
them. There are other activities that give me these
very intense headaches, but these two are currently about
80 percent of the problem.

These headaches are very uncomfortable, somewhat intense,
and throbbing in the temple area, on both sides. They
require me to just lie down in the dark and "ride" it out.
Over half the time they are followed by nausea and
vomitting. In the last several months, I realized that
my temperature is lowered to about 97.2 degrees, and that
hot showers and baths alleviate the pain a little bit. I
also get a stiff, lower spinal pain during these headaches.
I do feel those two symtoms have some important significance.

I have seen an MD for this problem. He thought they were
migraines, but none of the several types of migraine
medication gave me any relief at all. Then I went to a
neurologist. He said the headaches are vascular in nature,
and called them exhertion headaches. He also did lots of
testing on me; an MRI, cat scan, several LP's, x-rays, and
two cerebral angiograms. All these tests were negative, or
or showed very little. Also, none of the medications he
prescribed worked at all, so I quit seeing him, too.

So this is were I now stand. I would very much appreciate
any advice at all, or any recommendations. Please respond vie email to
