Aim of the Symposium:

Life sciences have matured to the stage when the mathematical and computer
modelling is now possible, and often leads to new and deeper understanding
of life processes. Computational approaches not only provide a new way
of complementing experimental studies at the fundamental level;
they also offer a very practical means of bringing immediate financial
gains in the highly competetive world of medical technology,
drug design, agrochemicals and food production.
We hope to provide a wide exposition of new trends in computational
approaches to a selected range of important problems in medicine, physiology,
pharmaceutical chemistry, agrochemistry, molecular biology
and many related fields.
Our aim is to help experimental and practising scientists
in those fields take advantage of the power of computational methods
and their easy availability. The hardware and software tools for such studies
are already available in Australia. Now is the time to start using them.
