I was wondering if you guys, masters of the Neuro field, could give me
a hand :^)
As I approach the end of my PhD dissertation (I have about 12 more months to
go), I would very much like to start the search for a *good* postdoctoral
position. Although I have been working in Developmental Biology, over the
years I have developed a strong interest for the Neurobiology field, and
indeed this is where I'd like to see myself in the future. My research has
required a wide variety of molecular, cell biology and biochemical tecniques
that I believe could be very useful in Molecular Neurobiology.
I understand that the best way to go about this is to ask as many experts
as possible, so here I'm throwing my questions to all of you. Since I am
a citizen of Spain and will be getting my PhD from the U.S., I am aiming
at Europe for a postdoctoral position.
1. Which do *YOU* consider top labs in Molecular Neurobiology _in Europe_,
and why?
2. Which would *YOU* personally recommend?
3. Do you know of any grants and/or fellowships that would enhance my
possibilities to join one of these groups?
4. Does most of the research in this area take place at the Universities,
or has it started to reach the industry?
I will very sincerely appreciate any ideas you can offer. I realize these
are not the best times to be demanding, but for my own interest I am willing
to try anything in my hands in order to continue growing as a productive
and efficient scientist. A good postdoctal position is, I believe, one very
important step one has to take, and it has to be very well thought of.
I thank you very much in advance for your attention and help.
