Hello all. I just found this newsgroup, so I wanted to introduce
myself. I am a graduate student in p-chem who in the last few years
has started getting involved with enzymatic simulations. Recently
I started working on the AD problem, specifically AChE and its
reaction kinetics. There has been a rumor in the literature that
secretase, the enzyme that cleaves APP, may be a mutant form of AChE
in AD patients. Does anyone know if this has actually been proven?
Any references?

I would very much like to discuss this stuff with anyone out there
who knows. I have a good understanding of reaction physics as it
applies to enzymes, so I might be of use, too. I want to help
solve this problem of AD.
