BioMOO has been very valuable to me. I have had the chance to meet
scientists from all over the world and have on-line realtime conversations
with them. Time can certainly be wasted, but the most intersting people
are programming useful "objects" with scientific applications. The
medium can allow for seminars and journal clubs in specific scientific
areas. How many people in your institution are doing research with just
your *particular* slant on them? The BioMOO allows you to discuss your
research or gain insights from others with your specified interests. In
fact, it has provided me a more rapid communication tool than is provided
by the network news services. The BioMOO grows everyday and is THE place
to be for scientists on the Internet. Drop by and see for yourself by
Telnet to:
Bioinformatics.weizmann.ac.il port 8888.
