The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism in sponsoring a
satellite symposium at the Society of Neuroscience meeting in Washington, DC,
entitled "Alcohol and Glial Cells" on Saturday, November 6 from 9:00 AM to 5:
00 PM in the Washington Convention Center, Room 10-12. (NOTE: the date in the
preliminary program was listed as Sunday, November 7.) All interested people
are invited to attend. There is no registration or fee.
The symposium will provide information on the basic function of glial cells,
their role in development, the effects of ethanol on glial cell development
and function, and the role of glial cells in alcohol-induced brain damage.
