I am currently doing a research project on mitral cells in the olfactory
bulb of rats. As an undergraduate, I have not had much experience (nor
success) in inserting a tungsten electrode into the mitral layer of
the left olfactory lobe and getting a decent recording from it; just
excessive noise. I wonder if I am even reaching the mitral layer, because
of the lack of response to stimuli.
I would appreciate any suggestions on how to improve my recording methods
and any paper references.
Please reply by email if possible, as I am not able to check this message
group often.
Thank you.
