I used to make small batches of the base media and autoclave it and
then keep them in the refrigerator until needed. I also had filter
sterilized KCN stored and would add the KCN to the base only when
needed. And yes it was back in the days when we mouth pipetted
everything! I actually felt safer doing it by mouth than trying to
manipulate some of the early pipette helpers!
