There are no rapid methods that I know for the identification of
Actinomycetes.
Your going to need to produce pure cultures. Cutural morphology is a help
taxonomically as is differentiation of Thermoactinomycetes by temperature
of growth.
There is deffinative grouping available by GLC analysis of cell lipids and
some work was done on speaciation by pyrolysis chromotography.
