At the risk of doing your home work - I think you are miss reading the
question. First of all, verify that it is really referring to MSA (manitol
salt agar). What is MSA primarily used for? Why would you want to put E.
coli on that media?
If it is not MSA that it is referring to then what is the reaction of the E.
coli on the media? Would that reaction have any bearing on the pathogenicity
of the particular strain of E. coli?
PS: for proper microbiology writing always capitalize the genus (even if
using it's abbreviation) and leaving the species name in small letters.
