First Announcement
Fermentation Microbiology Workshop and Symposium, University of Maryland
June 18-20, 2003
We are now accepting registrations to the 2003 Fermentation Microbiology workshop to be held June 18-20, 2003 at the University of Maryland College Park.
This workshop is designed to provide hands-on experience and instruction with various fermentation systems and will acquaint attendees with the techniques, methodologies, principles and applications of aerobic bacterial and fungal fermentation. The workshop provides an opportunity for participants not only to learn the principles of bacterial and fungal fermentation scale-up at the bench, but recent advances and up-to-date applications of this methodology.
A series of case studies have been added to the curriculum this year so that participants may gain a greater understanding of how the principles of fermentation are applied in practice. Participants may choose a track that is more case study/applications intensive or a track that is more hands-on laboratory intensive (especially useful for those with limited experience with fermentors).
