Hello All:
Is there any information that can be gleaned from the concentric ring patterns
seen on isolated circular colonies of common molds such members of Cladosporia,
Penicillia, etc?
I have noticed that as the colonies grow, they do so in fashion that leaves
distinct concentric rings (see the photograph at
http://members.aol.com/naimhling/ceilingrings.jpg)
Can I infer any information about the number/size of the rings? (moisture?
diurnal light? temperature?… fill in the blank?)
