NAS Sackler Colloquium on "Chemical Communication in a Post-Genomic World"
Organized by May Berenbaum and Gene Robinson
January 17-19, 2003; Irvine, CA

One major goal of post-genomic biology is to understand gene functions, many of
which are comprehensible only within the context of chemical communication.
This colloquium seeks to highlight emerging research on genomics and chemical
communication while providing a single forum for genome biologists and chemical
ecologists. Practical benefits stemming from this partnership include the
development of biorational products for agricultural and forest pest management,
disease treatment, and for the improvement of ecosystem health. Registration is
now open; for further information, go to
http://www.nationalacademies.org/nas/colloquia.
