UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND DENTISTRY OF NEW JERSEY - SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH JOINS IN SPONSORING EVENT
The Second BioDefense Mobilization Conference & Exhibition will occur October 22-24, 2002 at Loews Philadelphia Hotel. Workshops on bioterrorism and biotechnology will be presented October 21. The lowest registration fees-$495 for public employees, elected officials, and academics ($695 for others)-apply through August 26. The involvement of the UMDNJ-SPH is significant because it played such a strong role in dealing with last year's acts of terrorism, including the World Trade Center and the anthrax attacks. School staff trained many Port Authority staff and rendered technical assistance immediately after the disaster. Other assistance was provided to the main Trenton Post Office. In addition, more than 25 SPH faculty members with a wide range of expertise have been assembled to investigate and respond to bioterror events.

All individuals registered for the conference are invited to submit an abstract for either a breakout talk (by Sept. 15) or poster presentation (until Oct. 15) for any of the tracks below. See Call for Presentations at www.bio-defense.org for details.
