The literature contains several references to the use of azithromycin to
reduce' P. aeruginosa's virulence factors and so lessen tissue damage.
The P aeruginosa is not killed.
Does the reduction' of virulence factors imply a reduction in the
ability of the bacteria to grow and multiply? If so does this open the
way to selection of the strains less affected and thus to resistance?
