Prof. Edwin Battley has published a lot of work on the thermodynamics of
microbial growth, in particular S. cerevisiae on various substrates. He
reported the delta Hf of the yeast as -133.13 kJ/carbon-mole of biomass.
See Thermochimica Acta 309, 17-37 for details.
