dog bite

The most common dog bite organism is Pasturella multocida. It is well
documented. Another organism everyone should look for in a dog bite is a
very fastidious Gram neg cocco-bacillus that used to be called CDC Group
DF-2. It has recently been classified as a Capnocytophaga. If you give us
some idea about what they found maybe we can pinpoint it.

The only time I've heard about Capnocytophaga causing an infection is in a
compromised patient - usually a Splenectomy or an alcoholic.
