I am not microbiologist. I am told I can test for
a deletion I am supposed to have in an E coli
strain I have gotten using MacConkey plates,
apparently for testing for fermentation of rhamnose.
Can someone tell me where I can find a recipe for
this. I have possibility to make my own plates or
liquid media, if I can find suitable recipe. I
guess it should be a minimal medium or agar where
only rhamnose is C source. I also need to know what
the reagent that gives the red color is?
Also, is there an online source for microbiology
media compositions?
