A joint meeting of the Scottish Microbiology Society and the Biofilm Club
Registration and call for oral and poster contributions

The Department of Biological Sciences, Napier University will host the 10th
Symposium of the Scottish Microbiology Society on 14th April 2000. The
meeting will be held in conjunction with the Biofilm Club.
There will be an opportunity for members to give short 15 minute
presentations (+5 minutes questions) during the morning session on any
aspect of microbiology. The afternoon sessions will be restricted to offered
papers on biofilms. New members are welcome to submit papers. The Biofilm
Club will organise the afternoon sessions. Presenting members may be
required to submit a short abstract (1 page or more). The abstracts may be
published on the Society web page. Entry to the Symposium is free to
members. Coffee may be charged at £1. Entry for non-members on the day will
be £5 and £8 for students and professionals respectively, which will include
a years membership to the society. Yearly membership fees remain at £3 for
students and £6 for professionals. The Merchiston Campus at Napier
University can be found close to Edinburgh City Centre on Colinton Road.

12:40-14:00 Buffet Lunch (and posters)
14:00-15:25 Offered papers
15:25-16:00 Coffee (and posters)
16:00-16:45 Invited lecture followed by the Scottish Microbiology Society

Closing date for the submission for oral and poster presentations is 7th
April 2000 respectively, or by arrangement with Dr. Chris Oldfield,
Department of Biological Sciences, Napier University, 10 Colinton Road,
