I have just scanned several texts on aerobiology and while Actinomycetes are
frequently discussed, there is precious little information on methods for
isolating and identifying. Although various named species feature in the
introduction and discussion sections of the papers, the results often just
refer to "actinomycetes".
Some species of concern in air quality are thermophilic or thermotolerant
and one can incubate at 37 and 55C to gain some selectivity.
