We are high school students, who are interested in performing an experiment
with regard to modifying the enzymatic pathway of the degradation of PCE and
TCE. We are entering this project in the Cannaught Student Biotechnology
Competition. Our school has many resources including a biotechnology lab in
which we plan to perform our experiment.
We intend to take the enzymatic pathway of a bacteria that degrades TCE and
modify it by transforming in the gene that codes for tetrachloroethene
reductive dehalogenase. However, in order for this to be possible, we
require the gene that codes for PCE dehalogenase. If anyone knows how to
order the pceA, pceB and/or pceAB, plasmid or recombinant E.Coli BL21(DE3),
a response would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, we do have time constraints so any haste is appreciated.
Sincerely,
