There has been done some work on specific primer located in the ITS and the
rDNA regions for differentiation of fungi. The problem is that you have to
develope special primers for each genus or species. Only thing is to use the
ITS primers from White et al. These primers are developed in Saccharomyces
cerevisiae and amplify most fungal DNA too. But you can't differentiate with
these primers.
