I wanted to ask if someone knows where to get some reference about
culturing shiitake micelia (lentinus or lentinula edodes) or Oyster
mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus).
These are edible mushrooms that are grown on tree logs that are inoculated
with living micelia. The producers always have the trouble of having to buy
new strain every time an innoculation is taking part.
As i am not a biology literate, i wanted to know if there exist some
general rules in microbiology about culturing this kind of organisms, i
mean, media, temperatures, ph, whatever.
