I am looking into the ways to lyse/extract DNA from gram + cells. As far
as I can tell, the Promega Wizardprep kit is simple do to and the
extraction for G+ is the addition of lysozyme *(10mg/ml) @ 60 uL in a
300 uL extraction. Then incubate for 30-60 minutes @ 37C. If you are
having trouble lysing the staph, you can also add lysostaphin @ the same
concentration as the lysozyme (and in concert with it). This should lyse
almost any Staph cell.
That's what I could find out.
