thermophilic bacteria are named so because of their ability to survive in high
heat temps. usually they live near the thermal vents at the Bottom of the
Oceans. the heat there is what keeps them alive. without the heat to keep them
alive, the rest of the food chain thats there would die. all of the food chain
at the bottom of the ocean depends on these bacteria. u can go to

their thing is the fact that they do not need light.
