2 Post-doc Positions in Microbial Genetics in Paris (France)
Applications are invited for two post-doc positions in the "Centre de
Génétique Moléculaire du CNRS" in Gif-sur-Yvette (south of Paris).
The first project is to investigate chromosomal DNA organization and long
range DNA interactions in E. coli by using genetical and molecular biology
approaches (for more information, see
http://www.cgm.cnrs-gif.fr/coli/enindex.html). The successful candidate
will work with Dr. Frédéric Boccard (boccard at cgm.cnrs-gif.fr).
The second project focuses on understanding mechanisms of microbial
infection and corresponding host defense responses using Drosophila as a
model system. The succesfull candidate will use molecular and genetic
approaches to identify microbial virulence factors as well as their targets
in Drosophila (for more information, see
http://www.cgm.cnrs-gif.fr/immunity/enindex.html). Work will be carried out
under the direction of Dr. Bruno Lemaitre (Lemaitre at cgm.cnrs-gif.fr).
The initial appointment will be for a 12-month period, beginning January
2000. Net monthly salary will be from FF10000 to FF13000 according to
experience. The position is for one year with the possibility of renewal
for up to three years. Interested candidates should send applications to
Frédéric Boccard (first project) and to Bruno Lemaitre (second project) as
soon as possible.
