I was wondering if anyone can be so kind as to direct me to resources on
the net with information on Serratia and prodigiosin?
I've been doing some searching (www.alltheweb.com) but haven't been able
to find out why Serratia produces this pigment. I know that this
molecule may have some properties in regulating ion-balance over
membranes in eucaryotic cells, but this is of no help concerning the
procayotic Serratia.
