Durham tube question

Actually, Durham tubes fill themselves when the tube containing the
fermentable medium and the "upside down" Durham tube are AUTOCLAVED before
use. "Tilting the tube..." and inserting the Durham will make absoutely no
difference once the medium is properly sterilized. The tube will capture
some of the gas byproducts of fermentation.
