LANA Reagent

Greetings Microbiologists,

2-3 years ago, I worked in a lab where we used a substance called LANA
Reagent for the purpose of confirming Gram stains. I never saw it before
or since.

I want to get hold of the stuff now, but I don't know the proper name for
it (LANA stands for the chemical it consists of). I recall that I had to
mix it up in a Tris buffer and to use it, I'd make up three clear little
tubes (like Vitek tubes), put 0.5 mL of the reagent in each, and run
three organisms: a Gram positive as neg control, a Gram negative as
positive control, and the unknown. Within 30 minutes, a Gram negative is
confirmed by the clear liquid turning yellow; if there is no color change
in that time, the organism is Gram positive.

Do any of you know this reagent, what its actual chemical name is, the
specific Tris buffer formulation and perhaps a company's catalog which
sells it?

Thank you so much.

Infectionately,
Yersinia.
