The Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences invites
applications and nominations for the position of Professor and Chair of
the Department of Biological Sciences. The Department currently has 14
full-time faculty, 5 full-time staff, and 22 graduate teaching
assistants. Faculty research interests are in the areas of cellular and
molecular biology, microbiology, and cellular and systems physiology.
The Department offers B.S. and M.S. programs with a strong emphasis on
research. Additional information regarding our programs, the School, and

We are seeking an individual with imagination, energy, and leadership
ability to enable us to continue strengthening our educational and
research programs. The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. in an area
of biology, have an excellent record of publication and extramural
support, have demonstrated a commitment to education, and have evidence
of leadership skills. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications
and experience. Review of applicants will begin August 1st and will
continue until the position has been filled.
