"Microbiology - Essentials and Applications" by McKane and Kandel (published by McGraw Hill) is pretty good, with a vast array of microbial diseases and a section or two on resistance. It's one of the more 'readable' texts on Microbiology. -- Miss Owens change book to euryale to reply via e-mail
