Aerobic Bacteria in wasterwater treatment

Hello,

    I am trying to get information on aerobic bacteria in my plant's
wastewater treatment system.We are trying to raise our BOD5,
and reduce sludge. Any information on " care and feeding ",how fast
they multiply, pH requirements, or any other pertinent information
would be greatly appreciated.
