I certainly agree with you about the subject of microbiology. I am
actually a "mutated" micro instructor, having earned my degree in plant
ecology, but I love teaching the topic and supervising the laboratory
experiences of my students. I have helped several of my graduate student
friends into gaining community college teaching experience over the years,
and I feel that this only serves to make them better professors,
regardless of the institutions they eventually landed positions with. I
applaud anyone who undertakes the role of educator seriously and
maintains a love of the subject. If you truly love your job, neither you
nor it will ever grow old.
