TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR-Department of Biology and Biotechnology,
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts
The Department of Biology and Biotechnology at WPI invites applications
for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level. Preference
will be given to biological researchers of exceptional promise who enhance
their main research effort by using computational methods in their
scholarship, including for example: genome database analysis, computer
modeling and simulation, or ecological systems dynamics. The successful
applicant is expected to develop a vigorous, independent, extramurally-
funded research program. We prefer a colleague who will complement our
current faculty strengths. All undergraduate students at WPI are
required to complete research projects. Therefore, the successful
candidate will supervise undergraduate and graduate projects in our
B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. programs. Teaching responsibilities will include
participation in basic courses, an advanced course in the applicant's
specialty area, and academic advising. A strong commitment to
undergraduate teaching is expected, and will be evaluated in the
interview process Candidates should send a letter of application, a brief
statement of research and teaching interests, vitae, and 3 or more letters
of recommendation to: Human Resources, WPI, Box Bio, 100 Institute
