However, lactic acid may cause undesirable bacterial inhibition on the
culture medium. You may consider using 0.1 N hydrochloric acid instead. For
culture media, you dissolve the trimethoprim in a samll amount of HCl and
then adjust the volume with sterile water of phosphate buffer.
